Hobbit Day commemorates the birthday of the hobbits Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, fictional characters in J. R. R. Tolkien's The Hobbit andThe Lord of the Rings. Bilbo was born on September 22nd in the year 2890 and Frodo was born on September 22nd in the year 2968. The week which includes Hobbit Day is known as Tolkien Week.
